Mill Valley Historical Remodel

This historic Mill Valley structure has had many lives; a home for unwed mothers, a hippie haven and finally a single family residence.

The clients used it as a second home for awhile and as they approached retirement, they wanted to expand for a more permanent use. We had to maintain the existing street elevation but were were able to add a large family/kitchen area in the rear. A small writing studio is the owner’s sanctuary.

The clients love color so the design team took full advantage of this to bring new life to this storied old structure with its checkered past.
